So I broke my face in a collision with a minivan; it was parked. It was a tax-related accident: I was on my way from the tax office to the ward office to fix a mistake that I had made on my tax form which had caused them to charge me twice for my local taxes. It's not important; there was a long sloping hill and I was going down it, avoiding some pedestrians, going around a minivan; and then the chain broke, the bike wobbled back and forth, and the next thing I knew, I was coughing up blood at the edge of the road. Some people came to help me and called the paramedics. That was the 12th of June. Today is the 4th of July and I just got out of the hospital after having surgery to reconstruct my cheek bones. They broke on both sides, shifting my teeth by two millimeters. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it makes one's teeth not fit together. So now that my teeth are mostly realigned, I can eat liquids and soft foods for a month until my bones grow back together. Here are the daily photos of my progress.

やっと終わった、再び退院の日。これから一ヶ月間ずっとご飯を飲む。
The worst is over.
